As an international businessperson, I had been looking for the right opportunity to use my talents and training in an increasingly global world. Like many who believe strongly in networking, I was interested to hear about the International Business Summit, and the mission of the summit to bring together people who can put Tampa Bay on the map.

I was not disappointed. IBS was a great opportunity for business people in our region to extend their education about international business, and to meet others with similar interests. I met with a company who valued my international experience, and multi-lingual and multi-cultural background, rather than pigeonholing me narrowly because I have an MBA.

I have now accepted a position organizing international contracts for talented coaches, trainers, facilitators, and other experts, in a position that leverages my people, sales, networking and logistics skills. Joanne Weiland, my new employer, was also at IBS networking, and our company, LinktoExperts.com has worked with many of the bi-national Chambers in the past.

I thank the IBS Board and bi-national Chambers of Tampa Bay for the work they do to lead Tampa Bay and our surrounding regions towards new ways of thinking about diverse and international business, and for creating events to support this process.
